FRANKSTON

JAPANESE FESTIVAL

Saturday February 25th 2012

On Saturday 25 February 2012, the City of Frankston is organising a Japanese Festival to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Frankston and Susono Japan.

The Festival will be a showcase of many aspects of Japanese culture.

The City of Frankston would like all local schools that teach the Japanese language to be part of the Festival.

The sister city relationship has long been active in supporting the cultural development of the youth of Frankston.

The City of Frankston will also be hosting a delegation of citizens from our sister city of Susono who will be visiting Frankston for the anniversary celebrations.

The Frankston Susono Friendship Association has donated a Japanese Rokkaku Kite and several Japanese carp windsocks to some of the local school.

We ask each school to decorate each item in their own style.

The Kites and Carp will be part of the Festival activities program.
