About Us

Jo Baker

Thirty five years ago my husband, Ricky purchased a small stunt kite while we were on holidays in sunny Queensland. From that small kite and his determination to master the art of flying it we now have a trailer full of kites of all shapes and sizes.

Discovering a kite shop not far from where we lived and then learning about a kite club we discovered that not only where there Kite festivals but you could actually compete with these stunt kites. By this time we were both hooked and we discovered Team Flying and later started flying single string.

Warrnambool Kite Day

There is nothing like the feel of a kite tugging on the end of a line as a gust of wind sends it looping, swooping and soaring through the sky! Join Jo and Ricky Baker, professional kite flyers and world kite flying champions, color the sky with some amazing creations.

Make your own kite for sale on the day or bring your own to join in the fun.

Please remember…  The kites will fly….  when the wind blows….

Workshops

Even today kites retain a fascination and the ability to build a good kite is a skill that is prized by many, yet seemingly possessed by few. Making a kite requires a combination of several skills. The maker must display a great deal of manual dexterity, must be able to read a scale plan and follow instructions if making a kite from a book, and most importantly, must be able to identify and solve the many problems that can prevent a kite from flying well. These skills are relatively easy to acquire, and can lead to many hours of enjoyment.
